Customize your learning with elective modules like Exercise, Diet, and Health Promotion; Nutrition and Entrepreneurship; Psychological Approaches to Health and Social Wellbeing; and Therapeutic Approaches to Nutrition.
Gain hands-on training in our state-of-the-art Biosciences labs and specialized food preparation spaces. Analyze food production methods, examine physical characteristics, and utilize microbiology to evaluate food's antimicrobial effects. You'll also have the opportunity to wear bariatric and geriatric simulation suits to understand mobility challenges, while using advanced equipment to track metrics like energy output, heart rate, exercise duration, and sleep patterns. Apply your knowledge through work placements, engage in active research initiatives, and take part in professional development opportunities to enhance your employability.
This nutrition and health program also serves as excellent preparation for advanced studies in fields like public health nutrition, education, and psychology.
Graduates can apply for direct registration as Associate Nutritionists (ANutr) with the Association for Nutrition (AfN). AfN certification validates your foundation in evidence-based nutritional science and grants access to the UK Voluntary Register of Nutritionists - the sole register acknowledged by Public Health England, NHS Choices, and NHS Careers.
