Developed in collaboration with the Cheshire & Merseyside Social Work Teaching Partnership, this program equips you for specialized practice areas. You might focus on child and family services or adult social work, including mental health support. We'll teach you crucial communication skills to connect with people from all walks of life - a vital ability in today's multidisciplinary social work environments. During your three-year study, you'll participate in 30 campus-based skills workshops to enhance your professional capabilities. Learn from practicing social workers, including mental health specialists, who will share real-world insights about interventions and workplace scenarios. The curriculum aligns with Social Work England's professional standards and incorporates the British Association of Social Work's ethical guidelines. After graduating, you'll qualify for Social Work England registration, a mandatory requirement for practice.

Our Social Work degree qualifies graduates for Social Work England registration. Thanks to our close ties with employers and industry partners who help shape our curriculum, you'll be job-ready upon graduation. Notably, all our social work graduates secure employment or continue their studies within 15 months (Graduate Outcomes 2019/20).
After graduation, you can pursue diverse social work specializations. Opportunities exist in child services, adult care, and community work across public, private, and nonprofit sectors, both domestically and abroad. You might specialize immediately or explore different practice areas - perhaps beginning in child protection before transitioning to adult services, disability support, or social justice initiatives.
