Durham's PhD (Finance) program delivers intensive research training, enabling you to develop specialized expertise in your selected finance discipline. Our Finance Department faculty conduct groundbreaking research across an exceptionally broad spectrum of financial topics, with publications appearing in premier journals including the Journal of Finance, Review of Financial Studies, Journal of Economics, Journal of Econometrics, and Journal of Accounting and Economics. This environment allows doctoral candidates to explore diverse research areas such as asset pricing, banking systems, corporate finance and governance, sustainable finance solutions, personal finance management, Islamic financial systems, financial econometric methods, fintech innovations, and market microstructure analysis, among other specialized fields.
A degree that is equivalent to a UK Masters. You also need to have completed and passed (at a level equivalent to at least 65%) a dissertation module. .
