Environmental Geoscience is an increasingly relevant field of study as the world recognizes the threats posed by environmental degradation and seeks sustainable solutions. This BSc program bridges Earth's natural systems with humanity's efforts to address pressing global issues like climate change, sustainability, and environmental contamination.

Blending academic rigor, innovative research, and industry connections, the course prepares you for careers in environmental management, water resources, energy, geotechnics, or further academic pursuits. With a strong focus on career readiness, the program incorporates insights from leading organizations like Amec, Atkins, the Environment Agency, English Nature, and Mott MacDonald.
The first year establishes essential Earth science foundations, including mapping, remote sensing, and data interpretation. Year 2 deepens environmental focus, enhancing laboratory skills, sediment analysis, and climate studies. Year 3 features an independent research project and collaborative work on an environmental management initiative.
After your second year, you may transition to the four-year MSci in Earth Sciences. The final year combines specialized research with advanced modules that synthesize Earth Science knowledge for professional or research purposes. You can also extend your studies with an optional placement year or international exchange, expanding the program to four years.
