In today's rapidly evolving world, computer science drives the innovations transforming our daily lives. The BSc (Hons) Computer Science program builds essential technical expertise and hands-on abilities sought after in the industry.
Students will investigate groundbreaking technologies including machine learning, deep learning, computer vision, VR/AR, and cybersecurity. Our strong connections with tech companies and global employers ensure we stay current with industry trends, allowing us to continuously update our curriculum with emerging topics.
The program prioritizes programming and mathematical foundations from day one. The initial year covers core computer science principles while showcasing influential research that has shaped modern technological progress.
Beyond academic theory, the course cultivates career-enhancing skills. The second-year Software Engineering module features a collaborative project where students gain real-world development experience partnering with external companies.
Our faculty includes dedicated researchers specializing in AI, data science, bioinformatics, high-performance computing, graphics, and algorithmic theory. The final year's Individual Project lets students immerse themselves in the department's pioneering research initiatives.
Students can optionally extend this three-year degree to four years by adding either an industry placement or international study year.

A level offer – A*AA including Mathematics.
BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma/OCR Cambridge Technical Extended Diploma – D*DD and Mathematics A level at grade A (or equivalent) is required.
IB Diploma score – 38 with 766 in higher level subjects, including Mathematics.
Science A levels
Applicants taking Science A levels that include a practical component will normally be required to take and pass this as a condition of entry. This applies only to applicants sitting A levels with an English examination board.
