The Bachelor of Science in Natural Sciences stands out as one of our most adaptable programs. This time-tested, rigorous, and fulfilling degree is perfect if your academic passions cover multiple disciplines with at least one scientific focus. You'll have the chance to deepen your current interests while discovering new academic areas.
By studying across different fields, you'll develop a comprehensive knowledge base and versatile skills applicable to diverse industries, both within scientific sectors and broader professional domains. The program also serves as an excellent foundation for advanced postgraduate studies.
This degree offers two distinct pathways: the BSc (Honours) Natural Sciences and the BSc Joint Honours. Both options allow you to transition to either the Year Abroad or Placement track after your second year, extending your program from three to four years.
Subjects are organized into three categories:
Group 1 comprises Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Earth Sciences, Mathematics, Physics, and Psychology. A minimum of 50% of your second and third-year studies must focus on Group 1 subjects, though not all combinations are available.
Group 2 includes Anthropology, Business, Economics, Geography, and Philosophy.
Group 3 features Sport and Education (excluding History of Art). These subjects are specific to the BSc (Honours) Natural Sciences pathway, with no more than half of your upper-year studies coming from Groups 2 and 3. Prospective students interested in Group 3 subjects should consult the Natural Sciences Admissions Selector.
