Anthropology and sociology inherently complement each other as academic disciplines, sharing a focus on examining human behavior within broader cultural and social contexts.
This program merges components from both BA Anthropology and BA Sociology degrees, offering an in-depth exploration of humans as social and cultural entities.
Built upon a foundational framework of theory and methodology, the degree offers significant flexibility, enabling students to select courses across both fields. The curriculum highlights practical applications of theoretical concepts to real-world scenarios. Students will undertake a guided research project and have the option to complete an internship with a community organization, applying their learning in practical settings.
During the first year, students gain comprehensive knowledge of anthropology and sociology's fundamental theories and practices.
The second year deepens students' grasp of critical anthropological and sociological theories and research methods. At this stage, students may apply to extend their degree by adding a placement year or study abroad opportunity, extending the program from three to four years.
In the final year, students will conceptualize and execute their own dissertation project in either anthropology or sociology.
