IntroductionThis program's first year is delivered by DMUIC, located at a dedicated facility in the center of the DMU campus. As a DMUIC student, you'll enjoy complete access to all university amenities such as the library, fitness center, bookstore, dining areas, and computer facilities. Throughout this foundational year, you'll learn in intimate classroom settings with seasoned instructors, benefiting from top-tier academic instruction and exceptional support services to ensure your success and transition to theForensic Science BSc (Hons)MSci program.This full-time, four-year course begins with an ideal preparatory year for those pursuing careers in medical fields, healthcare, or laboratory sciences who may not yet meet the entry requirements for direct Forensic Science degree admission. The curriculum focuses on essential competencies in chemistry, biology, mathematics, information technology, and communication - equipping you with the fundamental skills required for theForensic Science BSc (Hons)program at DMU.Upon successful completion of the foundation year at DMUIC and meeting progression criteria, you'll advance directly to the university'sForensic Science BSc (Hons)degree. This program holds professional accreditation from The Chartered Society of Forensic Sciences and was developed in partnership with Leicestershire Police, guaranteeing that your education aligns with contemporary industry practices and standards.
GCSEs
Maths and English Language GCSE at grades C/4, or above
If English is not your first language an IELTS score of 6.5 overall, with no element at lower than 6.0, or equivalent (by end of YZ)
A Levels
48 UCAS points from at least two A Levels at grades EE. One subject must be either Biology or Chemistry.
BTEC
Applied Science BTEC accepted at 48 UCAS points or above
T Levels
Pass in Science T Level with a grade D or E on the core
If English is not your first language an IELTS score of 6.5 overall is essential.
