This program offers the freedom to investigate diverse traditional and emerging visual arts disciplines while cultivating your unique creative perspective. You'll have opportunities to work across mediums including drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, video, photography, digital platforms, and installation art to create impactful pieces that reflect our evolving global landscape.
Approximately 70% of your studies will involve hands-on studio work, focusing on refining technical abilities, creative expression, bold experimentation, and artistic growth. The curriculum features annual creative projects alongside art historical studies, modern practices, community collaborations, and guest lectures from professional artists.
Designed to align with today's international art scene, the program invites you to examine pressing themes like cultural diversity, personal identity, and artistic activism. Professional development components equip you with practical skills for careers as practicing artists or within the broader creative sector.
Duration: Three years full-time, four years including placement year.
Art and Design Foundation or 112 points from at least 2 A ‘levels BTEC Extended Diploma DMM International Baccalaureate: 26+ Points or T Levels Merit Plus five GCSEs grades 9-4 including English Language or Literature at grade 4 or above. Pass Access with 30 Level 3 credits at Merit and GCSE English (Language or Literature) at grade 4 or above We will normally require students to have had a break from full time education before undertaking the Access course. We also accept the BTEC First Diploma plus two GCSEs including English Language or Literature at grade 4 or above If English is not your first language an IELTS score of 6.0 overall with 5.5 in each band (or equivalent) when you start the course is essential.
