Join our Creative Writing program to discover your unique style, hone your craft, and infuse meaning into every sentence. Our curriculum features thought-provoking themes that allow you to explore diverse writing forms including fiction, poetry, memoirs, graphic novels, screenplays, nonfiction, audio scripts, performance pieces, visual poetry, and digital media writing.

You'll explore how words interact with visuals and sound, and by graduation, you won't merely be composing texts - you'll be creating publication-ready works. We also provide vocal training to transform you into a confident public speaker by the time you graduate from DMU.

DMU offers combined degree options pairing Creative Writing with Drama, Film Studies, or Journalism. The program splits evenly between Creative Writing and your chosen complementary field. This interdisciplinary approach keeps your writing dynamic through varied influences while expanding your professional skill set.
