This research cluster centers on achieving environmental balance and social equity by promoting ethical business operations and conscious consumer habits. Our studies directly support UN Sustainable Development Goal 12, which advocates for responsible consumption and production. We adopt a comprehensive sustainability perspective, recognizing that genuine sustainability demands harmony between social, economic, and environmental objectives. Our investigations employ a full supply chain methodology, analyzing processes, perspectives, and actions across various product lifecycle stages.
Our initiatives span multiple domains including minimizing waste, optimizing resource and energy use, fostering sustainable community and buyer practices, ethical labeling systems, and supply chain oversight. With a worldwide scope, we particularly engage with South Africa, Indonesia, and China. Our diverse research team cultivates an innovative atmosphere for pioneering academic exploration.

A minimum of a 2-1 first degree in a relevant discipline subject area with a minimum 60 percent mark in the project element or equivalent with a minimum 60 percent overall module average.
In the event of a first degree classification of less than 2-1 a Masters Degree in a relevant subject area will be considered as an equivalent.
The Masters must have been attained with minimum overall marks at merit level 60 percent In addition the dissertation or equivalent element in the Masters must also have been attained with a minimum mark of merit level 60 percent.
