Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism (PVE and CVE) have emerged as critical focus areas for policymakers globally, spanning from municipal authorities to United Nations agencies.

The growing importance of PVE and CVE initiatives is transforming societal perspectives on security and counterterrorism, shifting from purely military responses to comprehensive strategies involving multiple sectors and whole communities. Currently, PVE and CVE efforts are being integrated across diverse fields such as education, healthcare, social services, community building, and cultural programs.

At Coventry University's Centre for Trust, Peace and Social Relations (CTPSR), our research explores how PVE and CVE initiatives can foster safer, more harmonious communities while addressing potential pitfalls and developing solutions for these programs' future implementation.
