The BEng & MEng in Motorsport Engineering program explores the specialized field of high-performance, low-volume motorsport engineering. Designed to cultivate adaptable graduates, it fosters deep technical knowledge to tackle unique challenges while encouraging innovative thinking and creative problem-solving.
Through hands-on learning, the program transforms classroom theory into practical skills in design, experimentation, and analysis. Students engage with real-world industry projects and may participate in international competitions (availability and selection dependent). Specializing in performance engineering, the curriculum covers competition vehicle design, construction, and operation while maintaining strong mechanical engineering fundamentals. Students gain professional insights into the motorsport industry from faculty with extensive industry backgrounds, including experience with AEG, JLR, and BMW in automotive and race car design. The teaching team actively contributes to pioneering research in vehicle dynamics, EV technology, lightweight materials, advanced simulation, future concepts, and crash safety.
