The BEng & MEng in Motorsport Engineering program explores the specialized realm of low-volume, high-performance motorsport engineering. Designed to cultivate adaptable graduates, it fosters deep technical knowledge to tackle unique challenges while nurturing creative problem-solving skills.
This program transforms classroom theory into practical expertise through hands-on design projects, experimental work, and analytical exercises, often involving real-world industry collaborations and international student competitions (availability and selection dependent). Students can focus on performance engineering, mastering competition vehicle design, construction, and operation while developing core mechanical engineering competencies. The curriculum emphasizes professional industry context, delivered by faculty with extensive motorsport experience including work with AEG, JLR, and BMW. Many instructors contribute to pioneering research in vehicle dynamics, EV technology, lightweight materials, advanced simulations, future mobility concepts, and crash safety systems.
