This vocational program aligns with the updated requirements of the College of Policing's Policing Education Qualification Framework (PEQF), adopted nationwide by police services in England and Wales as part of revised entry pathways into law enforcement careers.
The pre-join pathway allows you to complete academic studies before applying to a police service, followed by condensed practical training to qualify as either a police constable or special constable. The curriculum ensures you'll cover all PEQF-mandated learning, earn a BA (Hons) in Professional Policing, and gain essential competencies to apply for police constable positions.
This innovative program addresses key challenges confronting modern police officers, including safeguarding vulnerable populations, digital law enforcement, and counter-terrorism strategies. It establishes fundamental understanding of constable duties across five core policing domains: Emergency Response, Community Policing, Traffic Enforcement, Information Management, and Criminal Investigations. In your final year, you'll conduct independent research into a specialized policing area of your choice.
