This program teaches current theories and practices shaping primary care while critically assessing methods for creating and implementing effective services to strengthen your capabilities as a general practice nurse (GPN). Through a combination of required and optional modules, you'll gain fundamental professional knowledge backed by solid evidence to advance your GPN career. With its clinical practice focus, the program emphasizes analyzing theories and research while applying evidence in general practice settings. Its flexible modular design allows study at undergraduate, postgraduate diploma, or master's levels.
Who is this course for
Designed for registered nurses in general practice, this program helps refine professional skills using cutting-edge research and evidence-based methods. You can enroll immediately after obtaining your Nursing and Midwifery Council PIN, with no prior registered nurse experience required.

To study the Postgraduate Diploma (PGDip):
You must have current registration on Part 1 or Part 2 of the NMC register and have no restrictions placed on your registration at the point of application and/or during the tenure of your programme
You must be employed as a GPN and this must be continuous for the duration of your programme
You should have a second class for above (2.2 classification) honours nursing degree or evidence of master’s level (level 7) study for a module of 15 credits or more in a relevant subject from an approved institution of higher education.
In addition to the listed entry requirements, if your first language is not English you will also need one of the following: IELTS: 7.0 with at least 6:5 in all components; TOEFL 100 overall with 24 in Writing, 20 in Listening, 19 Reading and 20 Speaking.
