The Organisms and Environment specialization offers an opportunity to concentrate your academic research within our Biosciences graduate programs (PhD, MPhil, MD). This research division examines complete biological systems and their functions within evolving ecosystems, covering aspects of health, disease, and genetic adaptations. We investigate how environmental shifts impact biodiversity at ecological, health, and genetic levels. Our methodology integrates ecological observations, laboratory experiments, and molecular techniques across diverse organism groups, including animals, plants, microorganisms (bacteria, archaea), fungi, and protozoa. Research themes are organized into three primary categories: genetic evolution and adaptation, organismal ecology in changing environments, and microbial interactions in health and ecosystems.
Program durations: PhD: 3-4 years, MD: 2 years, MPhil: 1-2 years
