Our Postgraduate Diploma in Bar Training offers an intensive, skills-focused 10-month program that equips aspiring barristers for their mandatory pupillage work placement.
This course provides the essential procedural knowledge and practical skills needed to fulfill the Bar Standards Board's (BSB) requirements outlined in their Professional Statement for Barristers.
We cultivate professional ethics and practice standards while offering insights into a barrister's daily work and encouraging reflection on contemporary legal challenges.
Classes are scheduled Monday through Thursday (maximum four days weekly) to allow dedicated self-study time.
Students can attempt the BSB's centrally administered assessments in December, April, and August during their enrollment period.
Graduates who successfully complete the program qualify for call to the Bar of England and Wales (pending fulfillment of their Inn of Court's qualifying session requirements).

Qualification Requirements
The LLM Bar Training Course (LLM BTC) is suitable for graduates in Law or any other subject in combination with the relevant conversion course (CPE/GDL). Applicants should show a commitment to the legal profession, specifically practice at the Bar (e.g. via placements, mooting competitions, public speaking).
To enrol on the course, you need to have:
completed your academic stage,
obtained a 2:1 class degree or higher (a 2.2 class degree will be considered on a case-by-case basis taking into consideration the application in its entirety),
been admitted as a student member of one of the four Inns of Court, and
satisfied the English language requirement.
IELTS with an overall score of 7.5 with at least 7.5 in all subskills
TOEFL iBT - At least 109 overall with a minimum of 26 in speaking and 24 in all other subskills
International Baccalaureate English A: Language and Literature (first language)- HL6
