With a history spanning more than four decades, the Orthodontics MScD program stands as one of the UK's most enduring clinical training initiatives. This three-year, full-time curriculum prepares aspiring orthodontic specialists through comprehensive clinical and academic instruction in a professional and stimulating setting. The program develops essential competencies for specialist orthodontic practice, emphasizing clinical expertise, theoretical knowledge, and research capabilities necessary for quality patient treatment. Available to domestic, EU, and international students, graduates earn a Master's degree in Orthodontics upon completion. The Royal Colleges recognize the program for orthodontic training, qualifying participants for the Membership in Orthodontics examinations in Edinburgh and the Bicollegiate system. Throughout the three years, students engage in didactic learning, self-directed study, and problem-based modular instruction. Clinical training occurs at South Wales teaching hospitals, while the first two years include a structured research component.
