The MSc in Social Science Research Methods delivers comprehensive advanced training in research methodologies spanning all social science disciplines. All program pathways hold ESRC accreditation and fulfill the training criteria for ESRC PhD funding eligibility.
This program presents exceptional opportunities for interdisciplinary learning, applying social research skills for professional advancement, and exploring specialized academic interests at the postgraduate level.
Students will gain in-depth theoretical and practical understanding of designing robust research studies, the array of data collection techniques available to social scientists, and key approaches to analyzing social science data. The program also covers the ethical and political contexts of social science research, along with various methods for disseminating research findings.

a 2:1 honours degree in a relevant subject area such as social science and cognate disciplines including sociology, politics, critical psychology, education, social policy and social work, criminology, management and business studies, history, area studies, geography, pedagogy, public administration, industrial and employee relations, and law or an equivalent international degree
a university-recognised equivalent academic qualification.
