The work placement program offers students who secure a suitable position the chance to gain 7-10 months of professional IT experience. Tailored for graduates transitioning into computing from other fields, the MSc Computing and IT Management equips you with comprehensive technical expertise and essential business insights for overseeing IT systems. This program teaches the competencies required to build business applications by covering core aspects of software and web development, e-commerce, and database administration. Additionally, you'll acquire professional leadership skills for IT management through collaborative work on business transformation initiatives. Elective modules allow you to explore cutting-edge technologies like cloud computing, which are transforming IT system opportunities and challenges. Alternatively, you can select human-centric computing, emphasizing user-focused information system design. Another option develops expertise in crafting interactive data visualizations and interpretations. Participants may pursue a paid 7-12 month professional placement after the Spring semester, preceding their 60-credit dissertation, to enhance their IT career readiness. Alumni of this program have secured positions as systems/business analysts, QA testers, IT consultants, and project managers across local, national, and international organizations of varying scales.
