This MBBCh program, known as 'C21', equips you for a fulfilling career as an NHS foundation doctor and beyond. Spanning five years, C21's spiral curriculum ensures continuous development of medical knowledge, clinical abilities, and professional attitudes through integrated learning. Our mission is to cultivate exceptional clinicians with deep understanding of both patients and their environments. The C21 curriculum begins by establishing foundations for higher education learning and integrated clinical sciences, delivered through diverse methods including classroom instruction, practical sessions, and digital platforms. Early clinical exposure occurs in both hospital and community settings, with patient-centered learning commencing in your first year. The program highlights clinical science application and prioritizes patient care, utilizing real patient interactions and state-of-the-art facilities. As you advance, the focus shifts toward clinical skill development - starting with simulations before progressing to extended placements across Welsh healthcare settings with growing responsibilities. You'll be expected to consistently demonstrate professional conduct befitting a medical trainee. Upon completion, you'll have proven patient care as your primary focus, gained competence in ethical practice, developed leadership capabilities, and mastered complex clinical decision-making - fulfilling all General Medical Council requirements outlined in 'Outcomes for Graduates'.
