Our LLM Human Rights Law program offers an in-depth examination of how key UN and European Conventions influence both domestic and international law, covering civil, political, socio-economic, and cultural rights. It explores the significance of human rights for vulnerable populations, including refugees and individuals with disabilities.

Following World War II, international and regional human rights agreements have reshaped national legal systems, transforming numerous civil and common law doctrines. Today, human rights principles permeate diverse legal and policy domains. This program delivers a rigorous assessment of the theoretical frameworks and legal provisions underpinning international human rights agreements and their domestic implementations.

Designed for flexibility, the LLM Human Rights Law program features an extensive selection of modules, enabling students to tailor their studies to align with career objectives or personal interests. Available courses encompass Human Rights Law, International Refugee Law, Health and Disability Rights, Medical Consent, International Humanitarian Law, and Global Justice.
Career opportunities - While many graduates pursue legal careers, this degree also opens doors to fields like finance, marketing, digital media, and human resources. We actively support students in building competitive resumes through extracurricular initiatives, collaborating with legal professionals and nonprofit organizations to offer practical experience. Our Pro Bono initiatives provide community legal services while allowing students to hone their skills. LLM graduates may advance to doctoral studies through our School's PhD program or pursue professional qualifications via the Centre for Professional Legal Studies (Legal Practice Course or Bar Professional Training Course).
