The LLB Law and Welsh program offers a rigorous and engaging curriculum designed to equip you with essential skills for legal careers or various other professions. Alongside core modules that fulfill the academic requirements for becoming a solicitor or barrister in England and Wales (known as the Qualifying Law Degree), you can choose from diverse optional subjects spanning both traditional and modern legal topics. This joint program, delivered by the Schools of Welsh and Law and Politics, allows for comprehensive study in both fields. Completing this degree fulfills the academic training needed to advance to the vocational phases of legal qualification—either the Bar Professional Training Course or Legal Practice Course—in England and Wales. As the sole Russell Group University providing both courses, Cardiff allows you to complete your entire legal education in one place. The Legal Practice Course has consistently earned top ratings from the Solicitors Regulation Authority and Law Society. With the devolution of Welsh Government and the Welsh Language Act, fluency in Welsh has become highly valuable to employers. Studying at Cardiff enables you to engage with cutting-edge research that shapes the future of the Welsh language in modern society.
