The four-year Business Management with German program blends key components of business education with comprehensive German language and cultural studies.
In the first year, students establish foundational knowledge in management and business disciplines, alongside an introductory German module.
The second year builds on these fundamentals, balancing business and language studies equally. Core Business Management courses continue while language instruction focuses on communication, translation, and business terminology - essential preparation for the third-year overseas study component, where Business Management is taught entirely in German.
Upon returning to Cardiff for the fourth year, students expand their business knowledge through three core and three elective modules, while maintaining language development with one dedicated German course.
As the mother tongue of nearly 100 million people, German serves as a gateway to significant political, economic, and cultural spheres. A CBI survey of UK employers ranked German as the most valuable foreign language for business professionals. Germany's pivotal role in the European Union makes German language skills equally valuable in Brussels and Berlin.
Students will achieve advanced language proficiency approaching native fluency while gaining deep understanding of German culture, history, politics, and society. The mandatory third-year immersion in a German-speaking environment enhances practical language abilities. The program accommodates both advanced learners and beginners.
This Business Management with German degree ultimately equips graduates for international business careers with professional-level competency in both English and German.
