Through hands-on lab work, field excursions, independent projects, and design workshops, you'll apply theoretical knowledge from classes while honing your technical skills in surveying and engineering design. You'll select from various realistic engineering challenges and industry-based scenarios, collaborating with peers from different engineering disciplines. Team projects simulate professional engineering environments, fostering essential workplace skills like cooperation and effective communication. Our accessible makerspace offers resources for innovation, creation, and teamwork. The program includes an optional paid internship, allowing you to gain professional experience locally or internationally. Previous students have secured placements with leading firms like Arup, Mott MacDonald, and WSP. Career opportunities Graduates typically enter the civil engineering sector with major firms such as Sir Robert McAlpine, Ramboll, Arup, and Mott MacDonald, taking positions like graduate civil engineer, site engineer, or design engineer across the UK and internationally. Some alumni pursue advanced degrees at Cardiff University or other institutions worldwide, while others join prominent national and multinational corporations in diverse sectors. Recent graduates have secured roles with organizations like Deloitte, PwC, Virgin, and Shell in fields ranging from finance to energy.
A level ABB-BBC. Must include grade B in Maths. You will need to pass the science practical element of the A-level if this is part of your programme of study. Extended/International Project Qualification: Applicants with grade A in the EPQ/IPQ will typically receive an offer one grade lower than the standard A level offer. Please note that any subject specific requirements must still be met. International Baccalaureate 32-30 overall or 665 in 3 HL subjects. Must include grade 5 in HL Maths. GCSE Grade C or grade 4 in GCSE English Language. IELTS - At least 6.5 overall with a minimum of 5.5 in each sub-score TOEFL iBT - At least 90 with minimum scores of 17 for writing, 17 for listening, 18 for reading and 20 for speaking
