The School of Modern Languages and Department of Politics strives to shape students into globally-minded individuals. Blending Spanish with Political Studies equips you with versatile competencies valued across professions, enhancing your appeal in today's interconnected job market while creating diverse vocational opportunities.

Political studies examine governmental operations and analyze fundamental concepts like authority, liberty, governance, disputes, validity, and responsibility, while incorporating global diplomatic relations.

Our curriculum offers diversity, enabling examination of political systems both domestically and internationally, along with analysis of policy formulation processes. Additional coursework addresses equity, governance principles, fundamental freedoms, and global affairs, delivering comprehensive political knowledge adaptable to individual aspirations.

Alongside advanced linguistic proficiency, the program cultivates deep cultural awareness - specializing in Hispanic societies while developing cross-cultural mediation abilities. You'll refine superior communication and analytical capabilities, building self-reliance through immersive language experiences abroad.

As a significant European and global presence, Spain boasts an intricate cultural heritage. Spanish serves as an official operational language for both the EU and UN.

We accommodate all proficiency levels, from complete beginners to advanced speakers. Initial studies combine language instruction with foundational explorations of Iberian history and traditions, establishing groundwork for specialized subsequent coursework.

Your linguistic comprehension will deepen during mandatory overseas residency, offering direct engagement with Spanish-speaking communities.

Final-year students may undertake independent research projects, fostering innovation and providing ideal preparation for graduate-level academics.

Remember that language education extends beyond vocabulary - it encompasses national exploration. Our program delivers a truly comprehensive curriculum featuring intellectually rigorous and engaging modules.
