Cardiff Met's MSc Youth Athletic Development program equips students with essential knowledge and hands-on experience in youth strength and conditioning. The curriculum delves into core aspects of adolescent development, examining physical growth processes, talent recognition techniques, and performance evaluation methods. Participants will investigate the scientific principles behind enhancing athletic abilities in young individuals, addressing areas like fundamental movement skill acquisition, developing strength and explosive power, improving metabolic conditioning, and acquiring coaching methodologies for youth training. The program also includes specialized components focused on injury prevention, teaching students to recognize potential risks and design protective training regimens. These key subjects are delivered through a blended approach, combining digital learning with two intensive on-campus weeks in each semester.
