The MA in Youth and Community Work includes an embedded Post Graduate Diploma in Youth and Community work, professionally endorsed, making it ideal for graduates already engaged in this field who seek formal qualifications.
This program allows participants to earn both an academic MA degree and a professional certification in youth and community work. Students must complete two supervised fieldwork placements and can choose between part-time or full-time study, attending university for taught modules and guided practice sessions. Participants often form a close-knit, collaborative, and skilled learning community.
Recognized by Education Training Standards (ETS) Cymru Wales for youth work, this qualification prepares graduates for professional roles in youth and community services.
The curriculum includes four taught modules (one optional) and two placement-based modules delivered on campus alongside fieldwork. Each 20-credit, level 7 module spans one semester. Additionally, students undertake a 60-credit dissertation exploring a self-selected topic relevant to youth and community work.
