The Government Economic Service, the UK's top employer of economists, has openly expressed concerns about university-level economics education lacking sufficient focus on comprehension and real-world application. This gap has contributed to their ongoing challenges in filling open positions. We take pride in being the pioneering new university to implement the innovative CORE curriculum, which equips students to apply economic principles to diverse challenges across social, political, and environmental spheres.

Our Economics faculty specializes in multiple fields including Labor Economics, Regional Economics, International Political Economy, Financial Economics, Energy Economics, Game Theory, and the Economics of Crime. They collaborate with institutions like the Welsh Government and Government Economic Service to maintain a curriculum that's both advanced and practically relevant.

Program Duration:
Three years for full-time study.
Four years for full-time study with an industry placement year.
Four years for full-time study including a foundation year.
Five years for full-time study combining both foundation year and industry placement.
