This BA (Hons) Media and Communications program at Cardiff Met aims to expand your expertise in media studies while cultivating a thorough grasp of media theories and their real-world relevance. The curriculum offers flexibility, enabling students to explore diverse topics while refining professional writing and digital competencies. This distinctive undergraduate program is built around three core components: media theory, media writing, and creative digital practice.

The theoretical component encourages critical analysis of media through courses like 'Meaning in Media', 'Media, Culture and Society', 'TV Times', 'Film Criticism', and '#Media'.

Media writing concentrates on journalistic and PR communication skills, allowing specialization in fields such as sports, television, fashion, food, film, or science. Students learn to craft news stories, features, press releases, and campaign strategies tailored for various media outlets.

The creative digital practice component equips students with sought-after Adobe Creative Cloud skills through modules including 'Creative Digital Design', 'Mobile Filmmaking', and 'Digital Enterprise Project', blending creativity with technical proficiency.

Cardiff and South Wales have experienced remarkable growth in creative industries recently, hosting numerous organizations and freelance opportunities, making it an ideal location for media careers.
