Qualification Requirements

This course is aimed at Interprofessional health and social care professionals, including doctors, nurses, midwives, dentists and allied health and social care professionals, as well as intercalating medical students.

You should normally possess a relevant first degree in health/social sciences, 2:2 or above.

It is essential that you undertake 100 hours of higher education teaching and learning practice involving learners who are studying at undergraduate or postgraduate level across one year. This teaching and learning practice can be performed within formal academic or clinical settings but must involve facilitation of learning for students who are studying on higher education programmes and can be interprofessional.

We offer a medical student intercalation programme for this course for third and fourth year medical students from KMMS or other medical schools. Please see the requirements specifically for intercalation at Intercalation for Medical Students for MSc Clinical Education

There is the option for students who have already completed a PGCert in Clinical Education or equivalent to apply for Recogntion of Prior Learning (RPL) to enable previous academic credits to be counted towards their completion of the MSc Clinical Education. This would mean that an equivalent PGCert (subject to the University RPL terms and conditions) could be carried into the MSc and that comparable core modules will not need to be repeated.
