At Brunel, you'll enhance your scientific expertise through classroom learning, lab work, and field studies. You'll participate in residential field trips both in the UK and internationally, with current destinations including Dorset and Tenerife.
Your first year integrates multiple disciplines, applying physical, chemical, and biological principles to explore Earth's environmental systems.
The curriculum aligns with the top 15 skills identified in a Natural Environment Research Council employer survey. Beyond core science subjects, you'll gain proficiency in GIS software, data analysis, and develop competencies in public engagement, communication, leadership, and teamwork.
An optional placement opportunity lets you build professional experience to strengthen your resume. Our Environmental Sciences BSc (Hons) features an innovative compressed degree option, allowing two summer placements during your three-year program with graduate-level compensation. Alternatively, you can choose a year-long placement between your second and third years as part of a four-year degree.
