The primary goal of the Ageing Studies initiative is to enhance our comprehension of ways to boost older adults' health and wellbeing. Our multidisciplinary approach tackles core research objectives: optimizing healthy aging, examining varied aging trajectories, and assessing healthcare solutions that promote successful aging. With 40 team members, we integrate four fundamental disciplines essential for understanding aging: social/behavioral sciences, biology, clinical research, and arts/humanities with policy studies. Our work primarily concentrates on three main research domains.
Career development opportunities
PhD candidates benefit from customized career guidance during their studies and for three years post-graduation from Brunel. We advocate proactive career planning and skill development from your research commencement, particularly if your professional direction remains undecided. Our career services feature digital resources, personal advising, and diverse workshops. The Professional Development Center organizes annual events including industry panels, job fairs, employer meetups, and skill-building sessions. When possible, students may engage in compensated teaching roles, as we acknowledge these positions offer valuable professional growth experiences.
