Building services engineers play a crucial role in shaping a building's internal environment. They specialize in designing, installing, and maintaining electrical and mechanical systems—including heating, cooling, lighting, plumbing, elevators, and telecommunications—while also providing expertise on health and safety, security, sustainability, and energy efficiency. Essentially, they ensure buildings function effectively for residential, educational, commercial, industrial, or cultural use.
Brunel's Building Services Engineering MSc equips engineering or technology graduates with the technical, design, and managerial expertise required to thrive in this dynamic and rewarding field.
The program provides comprehensive training in fundamental areas like heat transfer, energy conversion, acoustics, electrical systems, and lighting design, along with practical knowledge in building operations, fire safety, waste management, and vertical transportation systems.
