The Brunel Economics BSc provides a comprehensive foundation in economic principles alongside practical skills for applying this knowledge across business, industry, finance, and government sectors. You'll explore market dynamics from both microeconomic and macroeconomic viewpoints, examining how commerce and societal priorities influence economic systems. The program emphasizes financial markets and banking operations, while also covering introductory accounting concepts. Additionally, you'll cultivate analytical, quantitative, statistical, and computational abilities to forecast responses from various economic actors to market trends and events. The curriculum includes statistics and econometrics, along with training in data visualization, interpretation, and modeling using industry-standard tools like SAS, EViews, Bloomberg, Reuters, and STATA. Students can opt for either a three-year full-time program or a four-year version incorporating a professional placement year between the second and third years, providing valuable workplace experience.

The program focuses on delivering practical, job-ready knowledge that can be directly applied in professional settings, equipping you with essential skills for post-graduation employment. The optional work placement significantly enhances career preparedness.
