Our BA in Creative Writing is crafted to spark exceptional creativity, innovation, and originality in crafting, interpreting, and analyzing written works while offering opportunities for cross-disciplinary projects. Learn essential writing genres from some of today's most skilled and imaginative authors. Our faculty members have collectively published more than 100 books, written numerous scripts for television, film, and radio, and earned countless accolades. The program features celebrated writers such as Bernardine Evaristo, Hannah Lowe, and Max Kinnings. Starting in your first week, you'll engage in writing exercises and collaborate with fellow aspiring authors, exchanging ideas and providing thoughtful critiques. The first year establishes a strong foundation in fiction, poetry, and drama while exploring global literature. Second-year electives include journalism and screenwriting, among others. Your final year includes the Creative Industries module to guide career planning, along with a Special Project that lets you focus on your preferred specialization. Guest lectures by accomplished writers offer insights into various aspects of the craft, with industry professionals like publishers, poets, and broadcasters sharing their expertise. Brunel's proximity to London—the UK's literary hub—provides unique opportunities, including visits to the British Library, Shakespeare’s Globe, and West End theaters.
