The Faculty of Health & Social Sciences focuses on research across diverse fields including healthcare, nursing, midwifery, leadership, dementia studies, radiography, medical imaging, nutrition, exercise science, social sciences, humanization, and social work. Our researchers frequently partner with experts from other faculties and collaborate with BU's specialized research centers such as the Ageing & Dementia Research Centre, Centre for Midwifery, Maternal and Perinatal Health, National Centre for Post Qualifying Social Work, Nursing for Long Term Health Research Centre, and Institute of Medical Imaging & Visualisation. We actively promote interdisciplinary cooperation, with PhD candidates benefiting from supervision by academics with varied expertise to produce meaningful research outcomes. As part of BU's vibrant research community, students gain access to comprehensive training programs through the Doctoral College and their respective faculties, supporting both professional development and personal growth.
