Biomedical sciences cover several key fields such as physiology, biochemistry, cell biology, microbiology, and genetics. These areas play a vital role in healthcare delivery, medical research, and supporting the biotechnology and pharmaceutical sectors. This program teaches you about human body functions in both healthy and diseased states, while building knowledge of disease diagnosis, treatment, and management. The degree focuses on developing analytical reasoning and self-directed problem-solving abilities, preparing you for a rewarding career after completing your studies.

During this program, you'll gain essential laboratory and scientific skills through hands-on learning in our advanced life sciences facilities. An optional work placement in industry, clinical settings, or research institutions is available between your second and third year. Your final year includes an independent Research Project where you'll conduct supervised experiments.

After graduation, diverse career paths become available either immediately or following additional postgraduate training. Opportunities include roles as medical laboratory technicians, junior biomedical scientists, physician associates, clinical trial coordinators, research assistants, technical specialists, marketing professionals, and medical sales representatives. Graduates may also pursue teaching careers or advanced degrees such as MSc, MPhil, Physician Associate/Assistant programs, or PhDs. Outstanding graduates may qualify for postgraduate Medicine or Dentistry programs.
