Our goal is to equip you to become a dedicated, self-assured, and innovative educator by providing foundational training to launch your teaching career. Throughout the program, you'll enhance your capacity to navigate the dynamic educational landscape, graduating with the tools to continually expand your expertise throughout your professional journey. Coursework, assessments, and practical training are designed around your Progress Journal, which tracks your growth against our ITE Core Curriculum. This comprehensive curriculum integrates the ITT Core Content Framework (DfE, 2019) and the Teachers' Standards - the national benchmarks all educators must achieve. The Progress Journal additionally charts your subject-specific development, addressing key priorities for new secondary school teachers. Through ongoing evaluation via the Progress Journal, you'll cultivate the skills to independently drive your professional growth, ensuring you qualify with research-backed teaching methodologies. PLACEMENTS: School-based learning constitutes two-thirds of your training, with placements across diverse educational settings. You'll gain experience in multiple schools, including primary and post-16 institutions when relevant, observing teaching practices and building practical knowledge. Dedicated subject and professional mentors will support your development throughout these placements.
