OverviewThe MA in Black Studies and Global Justice utilizes interdisciplinary methods from history, sociology, psychology, political science, and cultural studies to examine Black identities and movements for justice. It fosters academic and activist dialogues on racial equity, representation, decolonization, and justice within a worldwide framework.This program seeks to:Examine and assess the historical and modern realities of Black communities, emphasizing racial, social, and economic disparities through a global lens of racial injustice and colonialism's effects on Black populations.Formulate approaches to promote racial and social justice via policy evaluation, activism, and grassroots efforts, while engaging in international discussions about gender disparities, health inequities, reparations, migration, and diaspora—bridging local and global justice initiatives.
