From concept to manufacturing, you'll gain specialized expertise to create solutions for real-world problems and improve user interactions. During your studies, you'll investigate materials, methods, and production techniques ranging from custom craftsmanship to industrial-scale manufacturing. The program combines research methodologies with hands-on skill-building, supplemented by live projects that strengthen career readiness, teamwork abilities, and professional conduct.Furniture Design SpecializationThe curriculum begins with foundational modules in product and furniture design principles. Starting in your second year's second semester, you can concentrate solely on Furniture Design through the Design Focus module, with deeper specialization available in your final year.Students selecting the Furniture Design pathway follow the core program while undertaking furniture-specific projects. This track benefits those aiming to refine their craftsmanship in designing, prototyping, and producing furniture and related items. You'll examine furniture creation at different scales, from artisanal pieces to factory production. Graduates earn a BA (Hons) Product Design (Furniture Design) degree.

Qualification Requirements

Standard offer: 112 UCAS Tariff points. A Level / AS Level: A Level: 112 UCAS Tariff points / BBC (or equivalent) and AS Level: Must be in a different subject to A Levels. Pearson BTEC (Diploma / Extended Diploma/ Extended Certificate): 112 UCAS Tariff points. Access to HE Diploma: Pass with 60 credits, 45 credits at level 3. Irish Leaving Certificate (Highers): Minimum of 112 UCAS Tariff points, achieved in five Higher level subjects. Scottish Higher / Advanced Higher: 112 UCAS Tariff points from three Advanced Highers (CCD) or two Advanced Highers (CD) plus two Highers (CC). International Baccalaureate Diploma: Obtain a minimum of 28 points overall. Students will also require IELTS 6.0 overall with no less than 5.5 in each band.
