Our BA (Hons) Education Studies with Foundation Year program lets you examine all facets of education while focusing on your preferred subjects, ensuring you graduate with diverse career opportunities in your chosen field.
During your foundation year in Society, Childhood and Education, you'll cover various broad subjects that create pathways for specialization in subsequent years - which marks the beginning of your full degree journey.
The foundation year curriculum covers extensive topics designed to equip you for multiple degree options, not just one specific BA or BSc program.
While you'll ultimately pursue a BA Education Studies degree, the foundation year prepares you for several potential degree paths the following year. You might discover your perfect degree differs from your initial foundation year focus.
This adaptability represents a key advantage of the Society, Childhood and Education foundation pathway, helping you identify your strengths and interests before committing to a three-year degree. It also assists BCU in guiding you toward the most suitable degree program.
Career-ready skills development
This program shapes you into a thoughtful, creative education professional who can adapt to change, drive innovation, and skillfully balance professional and personal commitments.
Education Studies offers exceptional preparation for working with learners across all age groups within the education sector. Employers in commercial and industrial sectors also highly value professionals with education and training expertise.
You'll gain the knowledge and capabilities for educational advisory roles in diverse settings including businesses, government agencies, NGOs, cultural institutions, and community organizations.
WORK PLACEMENTS
All students complete a minimum eight-week placement during their second year, which could occur in various educational environments such as schools, museums, healthcare settings, community programs, or with educational consultants.
