The MA in Psychoanalytic Studies offers an in-depth exploration of psychoanalysis' foundations, tracing its 120-year evolution, core principles, and diverse applications both within and beyond therapy. You'll examine how psychoanalytic theory has been adopted and challenged across various cultural and social contexts.

Led by distinguished scholars, this program investigates how psychoanalytic perspectives address contemporary social and political issues while engaging with ongoing debates. It emphasizes the intersection between clinical practice, social understanding, and critical analysis. The curriculum provides thorough examinations of fundamental psychoanalytic concepts within their historical frameworks, allowing you to track the discipline's progression from Freudian theory to current approaches. You'll also investigate the methodological, philosophical, and ethical questions arising from psychoanalysis' expansion into cultural studies, social research, and historical interpretation.
