Our MA Classics program is perfect for students with existing Greek and Latin proficiency who seek graduate-level engagement with classical studies. This advanced course allows you to examine diverse facets of ancient Greek and Roman civilization, spanning archaeology, history, and cultural studies from archaic times through late antiquity. You'll investigate classical literature alongside Mediterranean material culture while benefiting from instruction by renowned scholars at the forefront of their disciplines.

This interdisciplinary classics Master's begins with a historical survey of classical civilization, tracing developments from early Mediterranean societies to the rise of Christianity in Rome. The curriculum examines political systems, cultural practices, religious beliefs, gender studies, historiography, and modern interpretations of antiquity - a specialty area within our History, Classics and Archaeology Department.
