Birkbeck's BA Art History with Curating program allows you to examine artworks and exhibitions through cultural and political lenses while considering imagery's societal impact. You'll gain hands-on experience by developing and presenting exhibition proposals. This curating-focused history degree cultivates essential abilities including analytical reasoning, academic writing, historical investigation, and visual interpretation. Our curriculum actively incorporates London's art institutions and international destinations, featuring an overseas study trip each spring.
We approach art history as an evolving discipline that includes traditional mediums like painting and sculpture alongside contemporary forms such as digital media, installations, and printed works. Learn from accomplished educators who have both curated exhibitions across various venues and authored influential art historical research spanning medieval to modern periods.
