Created in collaboration with schools and early education providers, our Primary teacher education courses will help you grow into a creative and motivational educator. You can choose from several age groups and specialization tracks, all leading to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS):PGCE Primary and Early Years (3-7 years)PGCE Primary and Early Years (5-11 years) with specialization options in: English, Science, Mathematics, SEND, Learning Behavior, The Arts, Foreign LanguagesPGCE Primary and Early Years (7-11 years) with specialization options in: English, Science, Mathematics, SEND, Learning Behavior, The Arts, Foreign LanguagesOur intensive programs run for about 40 weeks, with roughly two-thirds of that time spent in school environments. The teacher education curriculum maintains a vibrant connection between university-based instruction and practical school experience.What you'll gainProgram HighlightsAs a Bath Spa educator-in-training, you'll examine various teaching approaches and diverse learning styles in children. You’ll need to be well suited to the teaching profession both personally and academically. We look for people with a committed professional approach and an exceptional work ethic. You’ll need to be organised, flexible and unflappable, as well as being able to communicate, interact and relate well to everyone. When entering the teaching profession, you'll benefit from having strong emotional resilience and a sense of humour.
In addition to the general entry requirements, you’ll need a good honours degree; your degree can be in any subject. We only accept candidates with GCSE passes at grade 4/C or above (or recognised equivalents) in English, Mathematics and a Science subject.
Depending on your course, you’ll need either IELTS 6.5 or 7.0. For visa nationals this must include a minimum of 5.5 or 6.0 in Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing. 
TOEFL iBT: This must include a total of 75, to include a minimum of 18 in Reading, 17 in Listening, 20 in Speaking, and 17 in Writing.
