Our subject sessions demonstrate practical approaches to cultivate a passion for learning through hands-on activities and creative exploration, all within drama's collaborative framework that encourages discussion and teamwork. The goal is to develop dynamic educators who consistently evaluate and refine their teaching methods.Program structure:The full-time PGCE Secondary program spans one academic year and covers all teaching subjects.Your initial school placement starts with observation, where you'll watch your Training Mentors teach classes you'll eventually lead. You'll gradually take on lesson components before assuming full teaching responsibilities, while learning about curriculum design, school operations, and student progress tracking.Throughout your training, you'll receive guidance from an Academic Tutor specializing in your subject. This tutor supports your professional growth while collaborating with Training Mentors and Lead Trainers to provide comprehensive assistance.The PGCE Secondary experience culminates in developing your unique teaching identity. You'll design original teaching materials, establish your instructional style, and gain the confidence to make your subject come alive.
During the program, you'll document and reflect on your experiences to demonstrate your readiness for Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).Career opportunities:Upon completing our PGCE with QTS recommendation, you can immediately begin your teaching career.We provide application and interview support throughout the course to launch your teaching journey successfully.As a newly qualified teacher, you'll receive two years of additional support from your employing school. Future career paths may include departmental leadership roles, assistant or headteacher positions, or specialized pastoral roles like Head of Year.
In order to apply you'll need to have completed, or be in the final year of a UK degree (or equivalent qualification). You're required to have a good honours degree or above in Drama or a related subject with at least 50% suitable drama content.
You'll also need GCSE passes at grade 4/C or above or recognised equivalents in English and Maths. 
English language requirements:
IELTS Academic either 6.5 or 7.0: This must include a minimum of 5.5 or 6.0 in Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing. 
TOEFL iBT - This must include a total of 75, to include a minimum 18 in Reading, 17 in Listening, 20 in Speaking, and 17 in Writing.
