The Relational Design Masters offers an innovative methodology for creating wellness-focused products and services tailored to specific regions. Capitalizing on the vast potential of the three trillion euro wellness sector, it concentrates on adventure, tourism, and educational domains. This program goes beyond theory - it's structured to facilitate tangible progress in real-world projects. Participants will showcase their work through a comprehensive Business Proposal, Exhibition, and public Presentation to key stakeholders. Our experienced faculty and resident specialists will guide you in crafting and communicating your vision compellingly. Students benefit from direct mentorship with senior advisor John Thackara, including in-person critiques during campus visits and virtual consultations via Skype. This people-focused, design-driven program leverages technology while emphasizing place-based solutions, providing hands-on training in design thinking, service prototyping, and innovative business modeling. The program is hosted in one of Europe's most sustainable regions - North Wales, renowned for its pristine landscapes, clean environment, rich biodiversity, coastal resources, sparse population, and vibrant cultural heritage. The area features a robust network of innovators, including local enterprises, creative makers, tech enthusiasts, and the active North Wales Tech Community.
Instruction takes place at Bangor University's Pontio Centre, a dynamic hub bridging academia, research, and regional business networks. Participants gain access to leading scholars across diverse fields including environmental sciences, sports psychology, as well as computing and engineering disciplines.
