About This CourseThis program delves into the natural intersection of Law and History, offering a diverse selection of captivating history topics alongside your legal studies. Explore the Tudor or Norman eras, Welsh history, or the post-war period to gain insight into how these historical contexts have shaped modern legal frameworks. This dynamic subject pairing enhances the versatility of your degree. The curriculum aims to cultivate intellectual independence. You'll receive guidance to build critical thinking abilities, formulate insightful questions about law's societal role, and articulate well-reasoned arguments both verbally and in writing. You'll gain expertise in legal principles and justice systems, discovering how law can serve individuals and communities, particularly marginalized groups. Core legal studies cover essential domains like Public Law (examining national governance structures), Criminal Law (analyzing penal systems and offender rehabilitation), and Contract Law (understanding legal agreements between parties). You'll also select History modules covering subjects such as Medieval Wales, Britain's Jazz Age, and Heritage Preservation. Career OpportunitiesA Bangor Law degree unlocks diverse professional avenues in legal practice and beyond, enabling you to impact lives and global issues. Your studies will provide both theoretical knowledge and practical skills for legal professions, whether you aspire to become a solicitor, barrister, government legal advisor, or specialize in commercial, immigration, or criminal law. For those not pursuing traditional legal roles, your qualifications remain valuable in sectors requiring legal expertise. Numerous NGOs seek legally-trained professionals for policy development, advocacy, and advisory positions, while international organizations like the UN offer global career prospects for aspiring changemakers.
